The Story behind Ooh-Ga-Boo-Ga island, and how I became "Chief."
HMS Tranquility sailed from Spithead, England on December 2, 1787 with Captain Michael Hayward and a crew of 52 men bound for Polynesia. Their mission was to collect exceptional Polynesian goods and commodities from the remote South Pacific Islands and return them for the King's luxury an amusement.
After collecting a wide selection of the quality-crafted products, Tranquility was undersail and headed for home, when on the morning of April 1, 1789, the crew unexpectedly altered course of the HMS Tranquility to an isolated region of the South Pacific; the uncharted utopia of Ooh-Ga-Boo-Ga Island. They established a settlement, trading post and commonwealth that still exists to this day.
